Exo Digit - Function by Design

The products in the Exo Digit range are bespoke prostheses designed for adults and children who have acquired or congenital finger absence; they are easy to use, functional and lightweight.

The Exo Digit Range has three distinct prosthetic solutions for different levels of finger absence, from these options we are able to create bespoke Multi-Digit variations for individuals with multiple digit and thumb loss.

  • Exo Digit P1

The Exo Digit P1 is designed for individuals who have suffered the loss of the finger tip and first joint of a finger. The Exo Digit P1 is manufactured using advanced metal 3D printers and is available in stainless steel or anodised aluminium. It is the original, and only, metal articulating prosthetic digit available in the UK.

  • Exo Digit Reality Finish

The P1 is the first of the Exo Digit range to get a high definition silicone finish option. The 3D printed metal articulating section maintains the functionality of the prosthesis with the addition of a reality finish finger tip for enhanced lifelike appearance.

How they work

Exo Digits are custom made prosthetic digits, they are designed to be functional whilst restoring finger length. The Exo Digits are body powered, meaning the prosthetic joints are controlled by the remaining finger length or hand anatomy, using synthetic tendons or multi-joint hinge systems.

Intuitive movement

The Exo Digit options are all designed to be easy to use and facilitate the undertaking of every day tasks without a second thought.

Wrist activation

The Exo Digit P2 creates functional movement of the prosthetic joints using a wrist anchor. This allows the remaining finger length and knuckle to power the joints enabling them to flex and grasp objects.

Stabilisation ring

Where there is a short remaining finger length from the knuckle, the stabilisation ring fits around the adjacent finger to improve control and grip.

Exo Multi-Digit

The Multi-Digit designs combine attributes and functionality from the Exo Digit range to create bespoke prosthetic solutions. Exo Multi-Digits are body powered and are controlled by the remaining hand and wrist anatomy.

Every Exo Digit is custom made to individual measurements, because we all come in different shapes and sizes.

Clinical Assessment

Each Exo Digit is a bespoke prosthetic medical device. In the UK this means a certified prosthetist needs to perform a clinical assessment and deliver the product. At Exo Prosthetics we are able to offer a nationwide clinical package from the initial assessment to final delivery.

Design & Manufacture

When we receive the prosthetic specifications, we use 3D CAD software to create an Exo Digit specific to the individual’s anatomical information. Once the design has been completed and checked it is sent to be manufactured using the most advanced 3D printing technologies.

Quality

Once the 3D printed parts are received from manufacturing, we perform additional quality control checks to ensure dimensions and thicknesses are correct. Once we are satisfied, the Exo Digit is assembled and delivered to the user.
